Eastern Concert Review

Editorial policy

Eastern Concert Review aims to make music and its contexts clear without presenting interpretation as settled fact. We distinguish explanation from opinion, check factual claims before publication and make our editorial choices visible.

Accuracy and attribution

We take care with names, terms, dates and descriptions of musical traditions. Where a claim depends on interpretation or available accounts differ, we say so rather than imply certainty. We identify sources and contributors where relevant, and do not present unverified claims as established fact.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to guarantee favourable coverage for a partner or contributor. A commercial relationship does not determine our conclusions, and we do not promise coverage in exchange for support.

Corrections

If a factual error is brought to our attention, we assess it and correct the article when warranted. Substantive corrections are identified in the article so readers can understand what changed. Readers can send a correction through the Contact page.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, supplied or otherwise partner-supported material is clearly labelled so it is distinguishable from independent editorial work. Partner placements are not presented as editorial recommendations. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where that is the case, the illustration is identified accordingly.
