Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers understand concert music across eastern regions through precise explanation, thoughtful comparison or cultural context. A proposal should have a clear subject and a reason it matters to listeners.
What to propose
We consider original essays and explainers about musical forms, instruments, composers, performance customs and the histories around concert music. A strong pitch narrows its subject, identifies the main idea and shows what a reader will be able to hear or understand by the end.
What makes a good pitch
Explain the proposed angle in a few sentences, note the kind of material the piece would draw on, and tell us why you are well placed to write it. Avoid sweeping claims about a whole region or tradition. We value careful distinctions, plain language and an explicit note of uncertainty where the subject calls for it.
How to send it
Send your proposal through the Contact page and select the editorial question or contribution option. Please send a pitch rather than a complete unsolicited article. We cannot promise acceptance or a particular publication schedule.
